Diet & Health Articles
Do I more or eat less? There is so much confusion when it comes
to diet, that we've decided to put forth some of the leading articles
on the subject right on this page.
| Leading experts will disagree on whether
people need to go high-protein, balanced or high-carb diets
in order to lose weight or remain trim and fit. |
|
Government studies disagree as well. The U. S. government is pressured
by different groups within the different food industries to endorse
(or at least not throw under the bus) their particular industries.
Since the government is reluctant to hurt any industries, a compromise
is usually forthcoming that may not necessarily reflect the healthiest
choices.

Old Food Pyramid
|
|
For instance, who can forget the famous Food Pyramid
that the government has endorsed over the years? At the top are
the unhealthy fats, oils and sweets that we should all eat very
sparingly. But, on the bottom of the pyramid are the breads, cereal,
rice and pasta group that we should all be eating 6 - 11 servings
of every day. Now, McDonalds and Olive Garden may just love all
the customers who buy into this, but if you've seen the movie "Super-Size
Me" you'll know that the bottom of this pyramid may just send
your health and diet to the bottom of the barrel as well. You can
check out the new food pyramind on the nutrition
health articles page for a more up-to-date look at what are
government is now promoting.
We've put together some diet articles that are a little more wise
than the old food pyramid and reflect today's thought on optimal
diet. The articles may just conflict at some points about how people
should achieve their health and diet goals, since there is more
than one way to skin the proverbial cat in the field of diet and
nutrition. Check out the diet articles to see how you can start
eating healthier today.
